Infrastructure

The Federal Liberal leader recently suggested that the surplus of money that that federal government has should be spent on issues rather than used for tax rebates. I think this is a wonderful idea, it was also suggested that the money would be going to infrastructure and the debt. Which is even better, why have then not done this already.
If the government had put all of the money that they gave to tax cuts in the last year to reducing the debt, there would be a significantly reduced. I wonder why the current conservative government has not done that, it would be a great way to show the liberals how they are better at managing money.
There are many layers of infrastructure, which all need to be improved. The issues about infrastructure that I think needs to resolved is if public transit or private car use will be the most important. I believe that the time of private car use being the most important way to travel is coming to an end. The lifestyle of using a car all the time has a huge price on infrastructure.
Many of the subdivisions that we live in are draining public money away from other projects, such as bridges and major roads. This is because of the increased roads that are put into place and managed in suburbia. There is also an increase in distance of utilities that have to be put in for each of these houses.
