Well my friend named Tim, who will name his first child Bowser, told be about Dunbar's number. This theory is based on the number of people who can be your friend at any time. This number is around 150 people, my goal in life is now to break this number and to have more friends than that number for an extended period of time. But since I am very bad at remembering basic things, such as names, this will take me many many years of work to accomplish.
The number also relates the number of people that can stay in a group that full of community. Once the group became larger than around 150 it would no longer be sustainable. This is shocking because I am apart of a community that is becoming larger than the magic number. This means that my community that I love so much could become less and less close. This also becomes a major issue when dealing with Planning the urban environment, which my major and I love so dear. (if you know me in real life you will know this well). How can you get a community of over 100,000 people to join together on a specific issue and find a common good. That also brings up issue of what is the common good for a community, and who decides what the common good is.
