The Lunar Eclipse that was a few weeks ago now got me thinking, when was the last time that I sat and looked up at the sky and wondered what it was all about. During the summer time it is easy to take time to look at the sky, it is warm. The Lunar Eclipse was a chance for all of us to look at the moon and realize that we are not the only things on this world. The world functioned long before we existed and will function, maybe not perfectly, after we are gone.
I know that I wrote about this before when there was a beautiful full moon a few months ago. At the same time am sure that it should be discusses more. Our culture does not respect what is around us and how best to live our lives in it. Every time that I look at the night sky, the sky would work but the sky during the day is sort of boring, I realize how small we are. How we are destroying everything, that though comes through in cities where the stars are hidden.
One of my favorite experiences from traveling to New Zealand was when we sat in a parking lot, with no unnatural light around. The sky was filled with more stars can thought was possible. There are so few places in the world where you can do that, and they are all getting destroyed.
