Favorite Books

Well I have two favorite books, and one that comes in book form. These are not all of my favorite books, but they are still important books. They are the Giving Tree, the Lorax and Calvin and Hobbes. As usual they all come into mind because of a common theme. These all have a theme about the environment, yes even Calvin and Hobbes.

The Lorax if you have not read it is about a man who warns the world that they are destroying it. But nobody pays attention to him and they destroy the forest they need to use to survive. The very last seed goes to a little child who then has the responsibility to rebuild the forest.

The Giving Tree is completely different. It is a great story about unconditional love, but the tree dies by giving everything to the child and gets nothing back. I like to rewrite the story that the boy only takes a what he needs and the tree survives.

Yes Calvin and Hobbes has many environmental issues that are talked about in it. Garbage in Nature, how cold a building is, that feet are only present to use a gas pedal. These are all issues that are brought up in a funny manner. They are all issues that we have to deal with as well.

I would suggest that each and everyone of you read these stories, they should be in ever good library around the world
